Prison Break
Finally. I'm done watching all four seasons.
I know it's a show long gone and over, but here I am... just done watching it yesterday. I first heard about this show way back in high school when my classmates ramble about it and argue about Wentworth Miller's sexuality. Honestly, that's what made me watch this show. I wanted to see if Miller was doing one hell of a job, because they say he's gay but is very much not-gay(if you will) on the show 'cause he's (their words, not mine) hot. I googled articles about that issue, and there was no concrete "journalism" proving it true. Although there are a few questionable photos of Miller's outfits(haha) and snaps with guys. Or a guy. I don't know, really. But that's not the point.
And since I can't help it because the Wentworth issue was really my trigger to watch, let me comment.
The Fox River 8 were right. Scofield really is pretty. His beauty is bordering more on the pretty guy type. And I don't like pretty guys(of course I just had to make this about me hahaha). To be quite honest, I dig Lincoln Burrows more than Michael Scofield. I like my men gruff. So, there goes my eternal love for Fernando Sucre. <3
Any case, this show pretty much created a buzz during its time. And I'd say Prison Break really deserve the recognition. It's brilliant, it's sneaky. I'd kill to have a brain like Michael Scofield's. Such a sneaky, brilliant man. I was deviously and literally mouthing "You sneaky bastard" when Michael was sent to the psych ward. I almost believed he went cray cray inside the solitary cell, then he remembered Patoshik's drawing, and that's when it all came to me. He staged a psycho breakout to get to Haywire. I just knew it. Fucking brilliant.
Then came Season 2. Goodness gracious, I started noticing Burrows' sexy self here. Haha. And of course, the introduction of my-then-hated-and-now-very-well-loved character, FBI Special Agent Alexander Mahone. His character development was the most evident, at least to me. To his colleagues, he's this really respected federal agent. But to us, he's a very troubled junkie. I actually guessed that the first time I saw him. Did they really make Fichtner look like a junkie or he really looks like one? Hehe. I guess it was the eyes.
Season 2 just tells us that everything doesn't end once you get on the other side of the prison walls. The aftermath is tough job. You're finally out of prison, but you're not really free.
What I like about Season 2 is the exploration of the lives of the Fox River 8 and not just the brothers. I really felt sorry for C-Note. And I envy Sucre's great love for Maricruz.
Let's take a little turn. Michael and Sara. I just didn't feel the epic build-up on them, but as Michael says, "it's real". But let me just commend how beautiful Sarah Wayne Callies is here. Hehe. I guess it's really unfortunate that I saw The Walking Dead before Prison Break, so she'll always be Lori Grimes to me. Although I like Sara Tancredi, so there's that. Good job doing your job, Callies.
I heard people saying that Prison Break was only good during Season 1 and 2. Having watched the show's entirety, I'd say otherwise.
SONA was disgusting. And disorganized. And... just really disgusting and disorganized. Unlike Fox River, Michael has no knowledge of what's beneath Sona. So, there's that. He can't just magically be a badass and dig holes or carve walls. I really liked that he's back to zero on this one. Also, there's Mahone, his nemesis. And Bellick. And of course, T-Bag. I really thought Whistler was very important. But boom. Start of Season 4, dead. Hahahaha.
Oh yeah, T-Bag. I have so much love for that psycho. Robert Knepper did one hell of job portraying Theodore Bagwell. Very funny. Very scary. Very disgusting. Very psychotic.
And you bet I ship Lincoln and Sofia. Hehehe.
And then we go to the Scylla season. The residents of Prison Break form an unlikely allies in each other and fight The Company. The first time I saw Don Self, I remembered someone. I think I've seen him on other shows before, I just don't know where. Any case, kudos to Mahone's knowledge of everything.
I guess Prison Break don't just literally mean prison but everything else they run away from.
T-Bag posing as Cole Pfeiffer has got to be the most hilarious thing on the show. Knepper did a really great job, and I couldn't reiterate that more.
Still a good season, overall. But let me just point some ridiculous things.
Shannon Lucio as a federal agent. Really? Really?! From the totally-irrelevant(The OC fan here, specifically a Ryan-Marissa fan) Nichol-daughter to a federal agent? It sucked balls. What the hell was she doing in Prison Break? Goodness gracious she can't even run like a woman, what more if she has to hold a gun. Very ridiculous. Or maybe it's just my post-OC hatred. Hahaha.
And then there's Paul Kellerman's comeback. That exoneration. Talk about deus ex machina. But I didn't really look much into it, because all I wanted is for the Scylla team to be finally free. And if Kellerman's magic return would solve that, so be it.
I'm a cheater and also a late-watcher, so I went to see The Final Break(eps 23-24) first before going into the "Four Years Later"(ep 22). I guess that was the appropriate ending. Although I was really mad because they didn't include LJ. Also, Sucre's baby girl is sooooo precious. <3 Although I really question why Little Michael Scofield seemed to be bigger and older than Baby Girl Sucre. But what the hell. Haha.
All in all, good watch.
And now onto Breaking Bad...
