One step at a time
So I'm in the middle of writing an 8000-word paper due tomorrow, but I've been wanting to share a progress of my journey with you, so... I just have to do that.
I've been going to the gym for more than two weeks now, and I've also been eating clean since then. Well, technically, I wouldn't categorize it as super clean (although maybe it is), let's just say I've been eating way less since three weeks ago. Yep, I started overhauling (lol) my diet before I went to the gym.
It's not a fancy gym. I chose it because it's convenient for me. Not long from now, we're gonna move to our new home, and the gym is like a 15-minute walk from there. It's efficient and I wouldn't have to travel and spend my money on fare.
The first week, I tell you, is the hardest to bear. I go there everyday, eat elk-y food everyday. And bam. No progress. I fought my way through that first week. I go to the fitblr tag on Tumblr every night just to get enough motivation for the next day. I had just started then, so there's really not much difference.
But on the seventh day, I weighed myself for the first time when I started this lifestyle. I lost 7lbs in one week. Freaking seven pounds. People I see everyday start to notice that I've lost weight. I didn't see it then, but these people, they do. 7 lbs lost, and I don't see it. But the people do. That was like my biggest uplift during the first week. I went out of my granpa's house, and my friends notice my weight loss. It's working. And I'm starting to see it, because my shirts that were super fit began to feel loose. I need to adjust my belt because my jeans were starting to get loose, too. I was extremely happy.
The second week was amazing, too. That week it occurred to me that every single day makes a difference. I plan to go forward and never look back. Now, this whole thing is like a fun, everyday activity for me. It's just amazeballs.
When you really get started and get past the tempting first few weeks, it gets better. You get better. Your mindset gets better, I tell you.
Get past that first week, and tell me if you still want to quit on the second. It takes time, really. :)
